There is much to do in and around the Park. In the
area are several towns that host town festivals in the summer ( Spud
Festival in Big Lake, Rodeo in Clearwater, Corn Feed and Chicken Fry
in Clear Lake, and the 4th of July celebrations ).
In addition to our own "Executive" golf course, the area
boasts several championship golf courses; Kimball Country Club, Pebble
Creek, Albion Ridges, Eagle Trace, Monticello Country Club, Silver
Springs, and Wapicada Country Club
Some of the towns around Travelers
About
two miles north of the Park is the charming little town of Clear
Lake, Minnesota. In Clear Lake you can find a meat market,
convenience store, hardware store, gas station, sports bar and a
Catholic and Lutheran church. The town also has some antique shops to
sell a variety of old time goods.
Four miles to the west of the Park is the historic river town of
Clearwater. The town boasts a new Coborns and new shops.
Also in town is American legion, a bait shop, several restaurants
and a motel. In early August music can be heard in the shopping
center parking lot as residents and visitors celebrate the town in a
mix of brats, corn, a parade, polka music and fireworks.
St. Cloud lies about 15 miles directly northwest of the Park along
Stearns County Road 8. The City of St. Cloud is a growing
central Minnesota community that offers many amenities and
attractions. The city is home to St. Cloud State University and a
beauty school. It has a top notch hospital and airport.
While in St. Cloud, be sure to check out beautiful Clemens
Munsinger Gardens, located on the banks of the Mississippi. In the
city you will find some of the Twin Cities major restaurant chains
such as the Olive Garden, TGIF, LeeAnn Chin's and Timberlodge
Steakhouse. And shopping can't be beat with new shopping malls and
even a Sam's Club. St. Cloud is the shopping Mecca of Central
Minnesota.
About 15 miles just southeast of the Park is the town of
Monticello. The town has a hospital, theater, K-Mart, and
several restaurants. Roughly 10 miles southeast of Monticello is the
state's largest outlet mall located in Albertville.
These towns are surrounded by some of the best fishing lakes in the
area and only an hour and a half drive to the state's well known
resort area, Brainerd, Minnesota, home of many world-class golf
courses featured in Golf Magazine. |
